840000 MILLISECONDS

"840000 milliseconds", is a still frame video piece which explores the longstanding philosophical issue of the subject-object relationship. A subject can never know an object as it truly is unless intended by consciousness.

The work uses time and space to measure and grasp the inner and outer time of an entity, merging time of the rocks, the performer and other surrounding objects such as every piece of leaf on those trees, every ant, every root, every grass, every twig, every particle, and etc. The performer transcends by removing the role of 'Self' and enter the reality of the rocks by "becoming" it. Time is seemingly slowed down when the stillness of the rocks and moving body synchronises and shares the same singular reality.
